Our Skin is an elastic covering; it protects us against exposure to dangerous things in the environment such as bacteria. It also repels water, minimizes water loss from the body and protects underlying structures such as blood vessels, nerves and organs. So why such an important part of our body so darn rebellious? I never suffer with major acne in high school as many of my friends did but as I got into my late twenties my best friend that protects me from all the bad germs out there started to attack me.
As I got older my skin became more sensitive and required more attention. I tried countless products that was geared toward my specific issue oily, dry, sensitive skin and to add to my crazy combination skin my lovely pimples was leaving back dark scars after healing. A cabinet filled with drugstore skin care and wasted time I realized I need to figure something out right away. I decided to do a bit more research and learned that some of the ingredients in these products can actually make your situation worst. I read the ingredients on some of the products that I was using and notice they all had ingredients that I couldn’t pronounce, and to make matters worst these ingredients were in well known products. We absorb 60% of what we put on our skin, children’s bodies absorb 40-50% more than adults. This piece of information was alarming so I decided to take action.
I have to admit it was so hard to find a product with ALL natural ingredients. Until I was introduced to Nubian heritage; this company was created by two college students in Harlem. They have now bloomed into an amazing company that prides their selves on creating products that does not have harmful synthetic ingredients. Nubian Heritage products do not contain Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Paraffin, Gluten, Propylene Glycol, DEA, Silicones, Mineral Oil, Petroleum, Triclosan, Synthetic Fragrance or Artificial Color. The brand is cruelty-free and doesn't test on animals.
I decided to try their Black soap and saw results after three weeks. Usually after a shower no matter what soap I used it always leaves me with a white residue on my skin, I am extremely itchy and dry with Nubian Heritage black soap it did not do that. My skin was actually smooth and soft, I fell in love, after three weeks of seeing my skin the dark scars was visibly lighter and my skin was glowing. Now I am obsessed with this product an I want to tell the world about it. On my skin journey I’ve learned that not only what your putting on your skin is important but what you actually put in your body is as well. Drinking plenty of fluids and avoiding foods fill with fatty substance and oil is advised as well.
